Seattle Looks To Bounce Back While Connecticut Seeks Second Straight Victory
Seattle saw its two-game win streak snapped with a 93-83 loss to the Connecticut Sun on Wednesday night.
The Storm’s offense featured a scoring effort in which all five starters reached double figures. Skylar Diggins led the way with 23 points and seven rebounds. Gabby Williams registered 21 points and five boards on 9-for-14 shooting.
Meanwhile, Connecticut’s offense was balanced as well, with four starters producing double-digit scoring totals. Tina Charles erupted for 29 points and pulled down 11 rebounds. Jacy Sheldon scored 16 points and handed out four assists.
Seattle led by nine points after the first quarter, and held a 74-66 advantage entering the final frame. Charles’ basket at the 5:36 mark gave the Sun their first lead of the game at 79-77. The Sun seized control of the contest for good, courtesy of an 11-0 run. Thanks to this game-changing stretch, Connecticut ended a 10-game losing streak.
Was the victory over the Storm on Wednesday night a fluke, or will the Sun do the unthinkable for the second time in three days?
