One of the games on Friday’s WNBA slate features the Seattle Storm hosting the Los Angeles Sparks. Will Seattle continue its dominance against Los Angeles in our Storm vs Sparks pick?
Seattle Seeks Third Win In Its Last Four Outings
Following a paltry 58-point effort in an 11-point loss to the Washington Mystics, the Storm rebounded with a 101-85 victory against the lowly Connecticut Sun on Monday night.
After building a comfortable 57-46 lead at the break, the Storm created even more separation in the third quarter. During that crucial stretch, they outscored Connecticut 30-12 and led by 29 points heading into the final frame.
Connecticut responded with a 27-14 scoring edge in the final 10 minutes, but it wasn’t nearly enough to prevent Seattle from coasting to a double-digit victory.
Seattle’s top performer was Nneka Ogwumike. She paced the offense with 26 points on 11-for-13 shooting overall, including a 4-for-5 effort from beyond the arc.
Sparks Hope To Start Another Win Streak
All good things in life come to an end. That was certainly the case for Los Angeles as the team saw its five-game win streak snapped, courtesy of an 89-74 loss against the Las Vegas Aces on Tuesday.
The game was over early as the Sparks fell behind 31-18 after the opening quarter, thanks to A’ja Wilson hitting her first eight shots. Las Vegas increased its advantage to 14 points at the break, and Los Angeles never recovered.
Kelsey Plum and Rae Burrell were the bright spots for the home team. Plum led the way with 22 points and eight assists, while Burrell added 17 points and six boards off the bench.
Storm vs Sparks WNBA Pick
Seattle is ranked ninth in offensive efficiency and has the second-lowest defensive rating in the association. On the other side, Los Angeles has the third-highest scoring average, but also has the league’s third-worst scoring defense.
Seattle has won each of the previous five meetings between these franchises. With that in mind, look for that trend to continue when these teams square off on Friday night.
