One of the games on Friday’s WNBA slate features the Los Angeles Sparks hosting the Indiana Fever. Who has the edge in our Sparks vs Fever pick?

Sparks Look To Regroup From Eight-Point Loss to Phoenix

After narrowly defeating the Wings 97-96, Los Angeles has dropped two of its last three contests. This includes a 92-84 loss to the Phoenix Mercury on Tuesday night.

The Sparks trailed 24-18 after the opening 10 minutes and 48-40 going into the break. Unfortunately, Los Angeles was unable to make up any ground down the stretch as the teams battled to a 44-44 stalemate in the second half, allowing the Mercury to secure their 23rd victory of the season.

Dearica Hamby put together a solid outing for LA. She finished with 25 points, eight rebounds, five steals, and two assists. Rickea Jackson and Kelsey Plum contributed 21 and 20 points, respectively.

Indiana Enters This Contest Following A Blowout Win Against Seattle

The Fever ended their two-game skid with a 95-75 victory against the Seattle Storm on Tuesday.

Indiana got off to a hot start, building a 50-39 lead at intermission. With a 14-4 run to start the third quarter, the Fever increased their lead to 64-43. And a 15-3 burst at the beginning of the final frame pushed the lead to 30 points (89-59), effectively putting the game out of reach.

Aliyah Boston scored a team-high 27 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Odyssey Sims added 22 points, six boards, and three dimes.

Sparks vs Fever WNBA Pick

Los Angeles has the third-best offensive rating, but is ranked 12th in defensive efficiency. Meanwhile, Indiana has the fourth-highest scoring average in the league and ranks ninth in points allowed per contest (82.6).

The Sparks have won three straight in this series and hold a 4-1 record in the five previous meetings between the franchises. Given that trend, the Sparks should cover the small 1.5-point spread.
