One of the games on Tuesday’s WNBA slate features the Chicago Sky hosting the Washington Mystics. Can Chicago get back into the win column in our Sky vs Mystics pick?

Short-Handed Sky Look To End Seven-Game Skid

Chicago’s woes continue as the team has dropped its last seven games, including an 83-67 loss against the Phoenix Mercury on Sunday.

The Sky led 19-13 after the opening quarter, but were unable to sustain the early momentum. Phoenix connected on 12 of 15 shots in the second quarter for a 42-34 lead at the break.

The Mercury put the game out of reach in the third quarter, outscoring Chicago by a 27-17 margin. Phoenix shot 10-of-16 from the floor during the game-changing stretch.

Elizabeth Williams was the top performer, finishing with 15 points and 15 rebounds off the bench. Second-year center Kamilla Cardoso added 12 points, 10 rebounds, and three assists for a Sky team that shot 37.1 percent overall and 25 percent from 3-point range.

Washington Aiming To End Two-Game Losing Streak

After beating the Sky 103-86 on Jul. 29, the Mystics have dropped their last two contests, including a 99-83 defeat at the hands of the Atlanta Dream.

Washington got off to a good start and led 23-12 after the first quarter. Unfortunately, things unraveled after that point. Atlanta outscored the Mystics 59-37 over the middle two quarters en route to a double-digit victory.

Kiki Iriafen was one of four starters in double figures. She powered the offense with 22 points, five rebounds, three assists, and three steals. The Mystics hope to avoid their third three-game losing streak of the season.

Sky vs Mystics WNBA Pick

Chicago is ranked 12th in both offensive and defensive efficiency. On the other side, Washington has the fourth-worst scoring average, but ranks fifth in points allowed per outing (80.7).

The Sky have dropped each of the previous five matchups in this series. Given their struggles at both ends of the court, look for that trend to continue when these teams clash on Tuesday night.
