One of the games on Saturday’s WNBA slate features the Washington Mystics hosting the Seattle Storm. Can Washington snap its losing streak in our Mystics vs Storm pick?
Washington Looks To Snap Two-Game Skid
The Mystics beat the storm 74-69 back on Jul. 13. Since that victory, they have dropped their last two games. This includes a 93-86 loss to the Los Angeles Sparks on Tuesday night.
After coughing up a double-digit lead in the first half, Washington rallied to tie the score at 67 heading into the final frame. The Mystics trailed 81-78 before Los Angeles seized control with a 9-0 burst, capped by a jumper from Dearica Hamby with 1:54 left to play.
Brittney Sykes led the way with 18 points, five assists, and three rebounds. Shakira Austin registered 17 points, six rebounds, four steals, and two blocks.
Storm Aiming For Third Win In Their Last Four Games
Seattle enters this matchup with two wins in their last three outings, including a blowout 95-57 win against the Chicago Sky on Thursday.
Already leading by a comfortable 39-26 margin at the break, the Storm outscored Chicago 56-31 in the second half, allowing the road team to cruise to an easy victory in a game that was not competitive by any means.
The offense featured five players who reached double figures, including four starters. Skylar Diggins dropped 21 points and grabbed seven rebounds on 7-for-14 shooting from the field. Dominique Malonga led the bench unit with 14 points, 10 rebounds, three assists, and two blocks.
Mystics vs Storm WNBA Pick
Washington ranks 11th in scoring and eighth in points allowed. Meanwhile, Seattle is ranked seventh in offensive efficiency and third in defensive rating.
While the Mystics have won two straight in this series, the Storm hold a 3-2 edge in the previous five meetings between the franchises and they are going to come out on top in this matchup as well.
