One of the games on Tuesday’s WNBA slate features the Phoenix Mercury hosting the Connecticut Sun. Can Phoenix make it two straight in our Mercury vs Sun pick?

Phoenix Looks To Build On Double-Digit Win Against The Sky

The Mercury recently ended a two-game skid with an 83-67 win against the Chicago Sky on Sunday.

Thanks to a 5-for-25 start from the field, Phoenix trailed 19-13 after the opening quarter. However, the road team turned things around in the second quarter, connecting on 12 of 15 shots, resulting in a 42-34 lead at the break.

The Mercury seized control of the game for good in the third quarter, outscoring Chicago by a 27-17 margin. Phoenix shot 10-of-16 from the floor during the game-changing stretch.

Kahleah Copper was the team’s top performer. She erupted for 25 points, on 8-for-14 shooting, including a 4-for-6 effort from beyond the arc.

The Sun Hope To Rebound From Recent Setback Against The Defending Champs

Connecticut enters this contest on the heels of an 87-78 loss to the New York Liberty on Sunday.

The Sun led 19-16 before New York closed the first quarter with nine straight points for a 25-19 lead. The Liberty would stay ahead the rest of the way.

Tina Charles was one of four players who reached double figures for Connecticut. She scored 17 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Aneesah Morrow registered 16 points and nine boards.

Mercury vs Sun WNBA Pick

Phoenix holds down the No. 6 spot in offensive and defensive efficiency. Meanwhile, Connecticut is ranked last in scoring and 11th in points allowed per outing (87.0).

After dropping all four meetings against Connecticut last season, the Mercury won the recent matchup by eight points. Given the fact that it has the second-best record out west and the fourth-best record in the league, Phoenix wins this one convincingly.
