  • The Phoenix Mercury are 25-14 and own the No. 4 spot in the league playoff race.
  • The Fever are 21-19 and have dipped from sixth to eighth as we approach the home stretch.
  • These teams previously squared off on Aug. 7, with the Mercury winning that game 95-60.

One of the games on Tuesday’s WNBA slate features the Phoenix Mercury hosting the Indiana Fever. Who has the edge in our Mercury vs Fever pick?

Mercury Looking To Make It Five Straight

Phoenix is hot, having won each of its last four games. This includes an 80-63 victory against New York on Saturday.

The game was tight early, as the Liberty led 39-37 at the break. However, the Mercury pulled away in the second half, which included a 25-14 scoring advantage in the final frame.

Three players reached double figures for Phoenix. Kahleah Copper led the way with 22 points, which included a 5-for-10 effort from 3-point range. Alyssa Thomas and Satou Sabally added 14 points each.

Indiana Hopes To Regroup Following Loss To Valkyries

The Fever’s recent two-game win streak ended, courtesy of a 75-63 loss to Golden State on Sunday.

Indiana trailed by a dozen at the break before getting within 55-50 at the 7:30 mark in the fourth quarter. But thanks to an 8-for-12 effort from 3 point range, the Valkyries pulled away down the stretch and moved closer to securing a postseason berth in their first WNBA season.

Aerial Powers contributed 17 points and four rebounds off the bench. Kelsey Mitchell added 14 points, and Natasha Howard finished with 13 points and six boards.

Mercury vs Fever WNBA Pick

Phoenix is sixth in scoring, but ranks fourth in points allowed per outing (79.6). Meanwhile, Indiana has the fifth-best offensive rating, but ranks seventh in defensive efficiency.

Although the season series is tied 1-1, Phoenix is 4-1 in the previous five meetings in this series. With that in mind, the Mercury come out on top here.
