One of the games on Thursday’s WNBA slate features the Minnesota Lynx hosting the Seattle Storm. Who has the edge in our Lynx vs Storm pick?
Lynx Look To Make It Three Straight
Following a two-game losing streak, Minnesota has responded with wins in each of its last two outings. This includes a 97-84 victory against the Indiana Fever on Aug. 24.
Minnesota overcame an early five-point deficit to take a 52-45 lead into the break. Then, Napheesa Collier opened the second half with five straight points, giving the Lynx a 57-45 advantage. The home team led by at least nine points the rest of the way.
Collier returned to the rotation after a seven-game absence to lead the team with 32 points and nine rebounds on 11-of-19 shooting from the field. Courtney Williams added 14 points and 10 assists.
Seattle Aiming For Its Fourth Win In Five Games
The Storm saw their three-game win streak end with a 95-75 loss to Indiana on Tuesday night.
Seattle trailed 50-39 at the break, and it didn’t get any better in the second half. Indiana opened the third quarter with a 14-4 burst to increase its lead to 64-43. Then, the Fever went up by 30 points (89-59) after scoring 15 of the first 18 points in the final frame.
Only two Storm players finished with double-digit scoring totals. Nneka Ogwumike scored a team-high 17 points, along with two rebounds and a steal. Brittney Sykes contributed 12 points, three rebounds, and three assists.
Lynx vs Storm WNBA Pick
Minnesota leads the field in both offensive and defensive efficiency. On the other side, Seattle is eighth in scoring and fifth in points allowed per contest (80.2).
The Lynx have taken two of the three head-to-head meetings this season. And with Collier back in the mix, the edge goes to the league’s top team in this Western Conference matchup.
