One of the games on Friday’s WNBA slate features the Minnesota Lynx hosting the Washington Mystics. Who has the edge in our Lynx vs Mystics pick?

Minnesota Aiming For Fourth Straight Win

After dropping a 90-86 decision against the Atlanta Dream on Jul. 27, the Lynx have reeled off three straight wins. Their latest triumph was a 91-87 victory against the Seattle Storm on Tuesday night.

The Lynx got off to a slow start and trailed 43-35 going into the break. But thanks to a 56-44 scoring edge in the second half, including six free throws from Kayla McBride down the stretch, Minnesota escaped with a narrow four-point victory.

Courtney Williams led the scoring charge with 20 points (including 14 in the second half), along with four rebounds and four assists. McBride finished with 14 points, six dimes, and two steals for a Minnesota squad that improved to 10-4 on the road.

Mystics Hope To Snap Three-Game Slide

Washington enters this contest amid a three-game losing streak, including a 78-64 loss to the Chicago Sky on Tuesday.

After Shakira Austin opened the game with a layup, the Sky went on a 14-0 run and did not trail the rest of the way. The double-digit victory snapped Chicago’s eight-game losing streak and helped the team avoid a four-game sweep against the Mystics this season.

Sonia Citron and Kiki Iriafen were the only players who reached double figures. Citron was the team’s top performer, finishing with 13 points, four rebounds, and four steals. Iriafen contributed 10 points and six rebounds.

Lynx vs Mystics WNBA Pick

Minnesota owns the league’s top scoring average (87.3 PPG) and ranks first in points allowed per outing (75.8). Meanwhile, Washington is ranked 11th in offensive rating and seventh in defensive efficiency.

The Lynx have won four of the previous five meetings between these franchises. Additionally, they have won eight of their last 10 games overall. Given those trends, look for the Lynx to emerge victorious in this matchup.
