  • The Minnesota Lynx are undefeated through their first seven games.
  • The Phoenix Mercury have the second-best record in the Western Conference at 5-2.
  • These squads last played on May 30, with the Lynx winning that game 74-71.

One of the games on Tuesday’s WNBA slate features the Minnesota Lynx hosting the Phoenix Mercury. Will Minnesota remain perfect in our Lynx vs Mercury pick?

Lynx Look To Stay Undefeated

The Lynx are one of two undefeated teams in the association. Their lastest triumph includes an 86-75 victory against the Golden State Valkyries on Sunday.

Napheesa Collier was one of four starters who reached double figures. She led the way with 24 points, 11 rebounds, four assists, and two steals.

Courtney Williams also had a solid outing, adding 20 points, five rebounds, and five assists. The expansion Valkyries kept up with Minnesota as the game was tied at 61 in the third quarter.

However, the Lynx seized control of the game courtesy of a 27-5 blitz, capped off by consecutive 3-point shots from Collier and Williams, to take an 83-61 lead with 5:43 left to play.

Phoenix Aiming For Second Straight Win

Meanwhile, the Mercury are off to a decent start, claiming five victories across their first seven games. This includes an 85-80 win against the Los Angeles Sparks on Sunday.

Satou Sabally and Kathryn Westbeld were the headline performers for Phoenix. Sabally scored a team-high 24 points, along with nine rebounds, four steals, and two assists.

Westbeld, who averages 7.9 points per outing, finished with 15 points, three rebounds, and two assists. Los Angeles led by as many as 18 points in the first half and held a 50-37 advantage at the break.

The Mercury responded, outscoring the Sparks 48-30 in the second half, including a decisive 24-9 advantage in the third quarter.

Lynx vs Mercury Pick

Both teams are off to solid starts. The Lynx excel at both ends of the floor, ranking second in offensive efficiency, and they have the fourth-lowest defensive rating in the league.

On the other side, although the Mercury are not a great offensive team (ranked in 10th in points per game), they have the top scoring defense in the league, giving up just 74.5 points per contest.

Minnesota has won four of the previous five meetings between these franchises, and that trend will continue when these teams take the court on Tuesday night.
