  • The Minnesota Lynx have the best record in the association at 22-6.
  • The New York Liberty dropped to 17-8 following a loss to the Dallas Wings.
  • These teams previously faced off on Oct. 20, 2024, with the Liberty winning that contest 67-62.

One of the games on Wednesday’s WNBA slate features the Minnesota Lynx hosting the New York Liberty. Which team has the edge in our Lynx vs Liberty pick?

Lynx Look To Start Another Win Streak

Minnesota saw its recent four-game win streak end with a 90-86 loss to the Atlanta Dream on Sunday.

The Lynx trailed 46-32 at the break before cutting the deficit to six points heading into the fourth quarter. After the Dream pushed the lead to 83-70, Napheesa Collier’s basket got the Lynx within three points with 11.3 seconds left in regulation. However, a free throw from Jordin Canada sealed the win for the road team.

Napheesa Collier was nothing short of phenomenal, scoring 32 points on 14-for-18 shooting from the floor. She also had eight rebounds, seven assists, four steals, and two blocked shots, albeit in a losing effort.

This defeat ended Minnesota’s 14-game home winning streak.

New York Aims To Halt Two-Game Losing Streak

After posting an 89-76 win against the Phoenix Mercury, the Liberty have dropped their last two contests, including a 92-82 loss to the Dallas Wings.

New York, which is without Breanna Stewart (leg injury), trailed 63-36 at the break and 85-62 entering the fourth quarter. The Liberty didn’t go away quietly, though, outscoring Dallas 20-3 during the first eight and a half minutes, trimming the deficit to 88-82.

A pair of free throws from Paige Bueckers and DiJonai Carrington helped Dallas hold on for the win, despite scoring just seven points in the game’s final 10 minutes.

Lynx vs Liberty WNBA Pick

Minnesota is the league’s top team in offensive and defensive efficiency. On the other side, New York is sixth in points allowed, but is ranked first in scoring (87.9 PPG).

These teams battled it out in last year’s WNBA Finals, and New York won that series 3-2. But Minnesota owns the best record in the league, and the Liberty will be without their second-leading scorer. With that in mind, the Lynx will emerge victorious in this matchup.
