One of the games on Saturday’s WNBA slate features the Minnesota Lynx hosting the New York Liberty. Will Minnesota extend its win streak in our Lynx vs Liberty pick?
Minnesota Eyeing Sixth Consecutive Victory
There’s no getting around it. The Lynx are hot right now, winning each of their last five games. Their latest conquest includes an 83-71 win against the Liberty on Aug. 10.
Minnesota trailed 47-40 in the third quarter before going on a decisive 24-7 run that flipped a seven-point deficit into a 10-point advantage. The Lynx knocked down five 3-pointers and converted a three-point play during the game-changing stretch that helped them seize control of the game.
Kayla McBride was the team’s top scorer. She finished with 18 points and shot 4-for-7 from deep. DiJonai Carrington added 15 points, six rebounds, three assists, and two steals off the bench.
Liberty Hope To Avoid Third Loss In Four Games
Following a three-game win streak, New York has dropped two of its last three contests. This includes an 83-77 setback against the Las Vegas Aces on Wednesday night.
The Liberty led 63-61 heading into the final frame. Las Vegas responded by outscoring New York 22-14 during the game’s final 10 minutes, with 15 of those points coming from the free-throw line.
Emma Meesseman paced the team’s offense with 24 points, 10 boards, and three dimes. Sabrina Ionescu contributed 18 points on 6-of-15 shooting from the field.
New York has come up short in both of its matchups against Minnesota this season.
Lynx vs Liberty WNBA Pick
Minnesota is the top offensive and defensive team in the association. On the other side, New York is second in scoring and ranks seventh in points allowed per contest (81.5).
After falling to the Liberty in last year’s finals, the Lynx are 2-0 against the defending champs this season. Given that trend, look for Minnesota to extend its win streak to six games.
