Minnesota Looking To Make It Three Straight
After dropping a 68-64 decision against the Washington Mystics, the Lynx have won their last two games, including a 102-63 win against the Connecticut Sun on Sunday.
Minnesota opened the game with a 27-17 advantage after the first quarter. Then, it scored the first 21 points of the second quarter, resulting in a 50-26 lead at the break. The Lynx kept pouring it on, outscoring the Sun by a 27-15 margin in the third quarter to increase the lead to 36 points, making the final frame a mere formality.
Minnesota won the rebounding battle 41-27; enjoyed a 36-22 edge in points in the paint. Furthermore, the Lynx turned 15 Connecticut turnovers into 23 points.
The Fever Seek To Get Above The .500 Mark
On the heels of an 85-75 loss to the Los Angeles Sparks, the Fever bounced back with a 94-86 win against the Dallas Wings on Friday night.
Indiana produced a balanced attack, with four starters reaching double figures. Kelsey Mitchell put up 32 points along with seven assists, including a 4-for-6 effort from beyond the arc. Aliyah Boston scored 21 points and grabbed six rebounds. Natasha Howard’s final stat line included 15 points, 13 boards, four dimes, and three steals.
Although the Fever led by 20 points through the game’s first 10 minutes, the teams were tied at 82 apiece at the midway point of the fourth quarter. However, Aari McDonald’s basket ignited a 9-0 burst that helped Indiana hold on for an eight-point victory.
