• The New York Liberty are 8-0 and have the best record in the Eastern Conference.
  • The Chicago Sky have dropped five of their first seven games and have the third-worst record in the league.
  • These teams previously faced each other on May 22, with the Liberty winning that contest by a 99-74 margin.

One of the games on Tuesday’s WNBA slate features the New York Liberty hosting the Chicago Sky. Can New York improve to 9-0 in our Liberty vs Sky pick?

New York Aims To Remain Perfect

The defending champion New York Liberty have picked up where they left off last season, winning their first eight games. Their latest triumph includes an 86-78 victory against the Washington Mystics on Thursday.

Breanna Stewart was the standout performer for New York, finishing with 26 points and 11 rebounds. Sabrina Ionescu added 13 points and seven assists, but shot 3-for-17 overall and 2-for-10 from 3-point range.

New York led 73-57 entering the fourth quarter, before Washington got within 81-77. However, Stewart converted three of four free throws, and Ionescu added a pair, which secured the victory for the road team.

Sky Hope To Bounce Back From Disappointing Performance Against Indiana

Meanwhile, the Sky saw their two-game win streak snapped with a 79-52 defeat at the hands of the Indiana Fever on Jun. 7.

Chicago’s offense struggled in this matchup, and that’s being generous. Kamilla Cardoso led the team with eight points and four rebounds.

The Sky trailed 41-28 at the break, and the Fever broke the game open in the third quarter, outscoring Chicago 27-11, extending the lead to 29 points.

Chicago shot 32.1 percent from the floor, converted just 3 of its 15 attempts from beyond the arc, and committed 19 turnovers.

Liberty vs Sky WNBA Pick

The Liberty lead the field in scoring and points allowed. This group is also ranked first in offensive and defensive efficiency. It doesn’t get any better than that, folks. Conversely, Chicago is ranked near the bottom of the league in each of those categories.

New York is one of two undefeated teams in the association, and it has beaten Chicago four times in the previous five matchups between these ball clubs. That said, the Liberty will come out on top here and by a wide margin.
