One of the games on Tuesday’s WNBA slate features the New York Liberty hosting the Minnesota Lynx. Will New York snap Minnesota’s win streak in our Liberty vs Lynx pick?
Defending Champs Hope To End Two-Game Skid While The League’s Top Team Aims For Its Seventh Consecutive Victory
After posting a 105-87 win against the Los Angeles Sparks, the Liberty have dropped their last two contests, including an 86-80 setback against Minnesota on Saturday.
The Liberty trailed 38-27 with two minutes left in the first half. But thanks to a 16-0 burst that covered the rest of the first half and opened the third, New York took a one-point lead into the final frame.
With Minnesota leading 82-80, Kayla McBride went 2-for-4 from the charity stripe, and Jessica Shepard knocked down a pair of free throws with 3.6 seconds left, helping the Lynx get their third win against the defending champs this season.
Jonquel Jones led New York with 17 points, six rebounds, and two assists. Sabrina Ionescu finished with 13 points, 10 boards, and two dimes. On the other side, Courtney Williams was Minnesota’s top performer, leading the way with 26 points, five rebounds, and five assists. Shepard scored 17 points and pulled down 10 rebounds.
Can New York end its two-game skid, or will Minnesota get the season sweep in a matchup between last year’s WNBA finalists?
Lynx vs Liberty WNBA Pick
New York is third in scoring and ranks seventh in points allowed per contest (81.6). On the other side, Minnesota — who had been the top team at both ends of the floor — is now ranked fourth in offensive rating and has the sixth-lowest defensive rating in the association.
Minnesota has won each of the three matchups this season. Additionally, the Lynx are 5-1 straight-up (SU) and 5-1 against the spread in their last six outings. Given those trends, look for Minnesota to knock off the defending champs once again.
