One of the games on Wednesday’s WNBA slate features the Indiana Fever hosting the Phoenix Mercury. Will Indiana continue to dominate this head-to-head matchup in our Fever vs Mercury pick?

Fever Seeking Second Three-Game Win Streak Of The Season

Indiana enters this contest riding a two-game win streak. The team’s latest triumph includes a 93-78 victory against the Chicago Sky on Sunday.

Thanks to an 18-2 run to close out the first quarter, Indiana held a 26-13 advantage after the first quarter. The Fever led by as many as 16 points in the final frame before Chicago trimmed the deficit to six points.

But thanks to a 3-pointer and a couple of free throws from Kelsey Mitchell, Indiana regained control and notched yet another double-digit win against the Sky.

Mitchell torched Chicago’s defense, scoring 35 points on 12-for-19 shooting and a 7-for-10 effort from 3-point range. She also tallied six assists and three steals. Aliyah Boston scored 14 points, pulled down 11 boards, and handed out six assists.

Phoenix Looks To Build On Win Over Washington

Phoenix recently ended a three-game skid with an 88-72 win against the Washington Mystics on Sunday.

The game was close through the first two quarters, with Washington leading by a narrow 46-42 margin at halftime. However, Phoenix finished the game strong, outscoring Washington 46-26 in the second half, including a sizeable 26-12 advantage in the third quarter.

Alyssa Thomas was one of four players who reached double figures. She finished with 27 points, 11 rebounds, eight assists, and three steals. Satou Sabally contributed 15 points, three rebounds, and three assists.

Fever vs Mercury WNBA Pick

Indiana has the third-best offensive rating and ranks seventh in defensive rating. Meanwhile, Phoenix is sixth in scoring (83.1 PPG) and fifth in scoring defense, allowing 79.8 points per contest.

The Fever have won each of the previous five meetings between the franchises. On the other hand, the Mercury are a solid team at both ends of the floor. Given that trend and the fact that Caitlin Clark is still nursing a groin injury, look for Phoenix to come out on top in this one.
