• The Dream are 28-14 and own the No. 2 spot in the league playoff race.
  • The Sun are 11-31 and have the third-worst record in the association.
  • These teams previously squared off on Sep. 1, with the Dream claiming a 93-76 victory.

One of the games on Monday’s WNBA slate features the Atlanta Dream hosting the Connecticut Sun. Who has the edge in our Dream vs Sun pick?

Dream Aiming For Fifth Consecutive Win

Since dropping an 81-75 decision against the Aces, Atlanta has won four straight, including a 104-85 win against the Los Angeles Sparks on Friday night.

Atlanta held a slim 56-52 lead at intermission. After Los Angeles tied the game at 64, the Dream used a key 13-0 run to take an 85-72 lead into the fourth quarter and cruised to a 19-point victory. The home team tied a team record with 19 three-point baskets.

Rhyne Howard put up a team-high 37 points, along with six assists and five rebounds. She also tied the WNBA record, knocking down nine 3-pointers on 17 attempts.

Connecticut Hopes To Upset Another Playoff Team

Despite just 11 wins on the season, the Sun ended their three-game losing streak with an 87-84 victory against the Phoenix Mercury on Saturday.

Although Connecticut led by eight points after the opening stanza, the game was tied at 81 in the game’s waning moments. Leila Lacan converted a layup and two free throws, giving the Sun an 85-81 advantage.

And after Phoenix’s Satou Sabally hit a 3-pointer, Lecan capped off the scoring with another pair of free throws. Marina Mabrey scored 23 points, along with five rebounds, four assists, and two steals. Tina Charles finished with a double-double that consisted of 22 points and 10 rebounds. She also tallied two assists and two blocks.

Dream vs Sun WNBA Pick

Atlanta ranks second in both offensive and defensive efficiency. Meanwhile, Connecticut ranks 12th in scoring and 11th in points allowed per contest (85.9).

The Dream have won two of the three head-to-head matchups this season. While the Sun did knock off Phoenix a few days ago, the odds of them beating another top-four team are slim.
