One of the games on Wednesday’s WNBA slate features the Atlanta Dream hosting the Seattle Storm. Can Atlanta stay hot in our Dream vs Storm pick?
The Dream Seeking Their Sixth Straight Victory
Atlanta is rolling right now, having produced wins in each of their last five outings. Their latest triumph includes a 74-66 victory against the Phoenix Mercury on Sunday.
The Dream led 36-19 at the 5:25 mark of the second quarter. However, Phoenix used a 15-3 burst to cut the deficit to 39-34 at the break and got within 53-50 heading into the fourth quarter.
Atlanta responded with a 21-16 scoring edge in the final 10 minutes to hold on for the victory. Allisha Gray scored a team-high 17 points, along with five rebounds, and five assists. Brionna Jones logged 15 points, 11 boards, and four dimes.
The Dream pulled out the victory despite shooting 38.5 percent overall and 28.1 percent from 3-point range.
Seattle Hopes To Snap Five-Game Losing Skid
The losses are starting to pile up for the Storm as they enter this contest amid a season-high five-game losing streak. Their latest setback includes a 94-91 loss to the Los Angeles Sparks on Sunday.
Seattle jumped out to an early 26-14 lead after the first quarter before Los Angeles rallied to take a 36-35 lead at the break. Fast forward ahead to the fourth quarter, Skylar Diggins converted a basket that gave the Storm an 87-80 lead with 2:52 left to play.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough, as the Sparks closed the game on a 14-4 run, including a key three-point play from Dearica Hamby in the waning moments.
Four players produced double-digit scoring totals for the Storm. Brittney Sykes led the way with 27 points, four steals and three assists. Dominique Malonga added 20 points and 11 rebounds off the bench.
Dream vs Storm WNBA Pick
Atlanta is ranked second in both offensive and defensive efficiency. On the other side, Seattle is ranked eighth in scoring and fifth in points allowed per outing (79.8).
The teams have split the season series, each winning on the other’s home court. Given that the Dream are the hotter team right now, look for them to get the win in what should be a competitive, back-and-forth battle.
