The 2025 WNBA season is underway with some great matchups taking place. In our Dream vs Storm WNBA pick, two teams with postseason hopes clash in a key early-season bout that should stay close.
Dream Powering Through Injuries
Atlanta managed to earn another victory on Tuesday, despite being without starting center and top offseason acquisition Brittney Griner. After suffering a knee injury, Griner sat out all three games in the Dream’s current winning streak. Naz Hillmon has done a fantastic job of filling in for Griner, but the Dream will certainly get even better once she (and Jordin Canada) return from their injuries in the coming weeks.
Storm Starting to Heat Up
Seattle had their 3-game win streak snapped by the Lynx on Tuesday, but continues to play well. After a disaster-class of an opener, the Storm picked up three strong wins and then lost to the 5-0 Lynx by just 5 points in Minnesota. Still, a loss is a loss and Seattle will be eager to return to the win column back on their home court where they’re 2-0. Skylar Diggins and Nneka Ogwumike will continue to lead the way for them.
Atlanta Dream vs Seattle Storm WNBA Pick
Atlanta and Seattle should match up pretty evenly in this game. However if Griner remains out, the Dream will be more pressed finding a way to deal with Nneka Ogwumike inside. Combined with their home-court advantage, and the Storm should be able to walk away from this one with a win and improve to 4-2 overall.
