One of the games on Friday’s WNBA slate features the Atlanta Dream hosting the Minnesota Lynx. Which team has the edge in our Dream vs Lynx pick?

Atlanta Looks To Bounce Back From Disappointing Showing Against Dallas

The Dream’s recent two-game win streak ended with a 68-55 loss against the Dallas Wings on Tuesday night.

Rhyne Howard scored a game-high 23 points, grabbed eight rebounds, and had three steals. Allisha Gray added 13 points on 3-of-16 shooting overall and 2-for-9 from beyond the arc.

Atlanta trailed by nine points after the opening quarter and by a 10-point margin (50-40) heading into the final frame. The Dream got no closer than eight points the rest of the way.

Despite having only four wins on their resume, the Wings’ defense held Atlanta to 23.4 percent shooting from the floor and a woeful 20.6 percent from 3-point range.

Lynx Aiming For Fourth Win In Five Games

The Lynx, who own the best record in the league, saw their three-game win streak end with a 68-64 loss against the Washington Mystics.

Without Napheesa Collier in the rotation, Alanna Smith did most of the heavy lifting in this one. She finished 26 points, converting nine of 17 shot attempts. She also tallied six blocked shots and five rebounds.

Jessica Shepard’s final stat line included 12 points, 15 rebounds, four assists, and two steals. Washington trailed 64-62 late in the fourth quarter before Shakira Austin’s basket knotted the game at 64 apiece.

The Lynx took a timeout, but committed a turnover on the ensuing inbounds pass, resulting in the winning basket for the host team.

A pair of free throws from Sonia Citron with 6.4 seconds remaining secured the win for the Mystics, even though they went more than five minutes without a field goal.

Dream vs Lynx WNBA Pick

This contest features a pair of teams that play well at both ends of the court. Atlanta has the third-highest scoring average and ranks second in points allowed.

Meanwhile, the Lynx have the second-best offensive rating, and they lead the field in defensive efficiency, allowing 96.7 points per 100 possessions.

Minnesota won all four matchups between the franchises in 2024, with three of them coming by double-digit margins. But given that Collier may not suit up for this game due to a lingering back injury, Atlanta could snap its five-game losing streak in this series.
