One of the games on Thursday’s WNBA slate features the Atlanta Dream hosting the Minnesota Lynx. Which team has the edge in our Dream vs Lynx pick?
Atlanta Seeks To Remain In Contention For Top Spot In The East
Following an impressive six-game win streak, the Dream have dropped two of their last three contests. This includes a 74-72 loss to the Las Vegas Aces on Tuesday night.
After squandering a 10-point lead early in the final frame, Rhyne Howard hit a 3-pointer, tying the game at 72. But with her team trailing 74-72 in the closing seconds, Howard missed a floater in the lane, and Las Vegas grabbed the rebound and held on for the win.
Howard powered Atlanta’s offense with 19 points, six assists, and three rebounds. Allisha Gray finished with 16 points and six rebounds. Despite the loss, Atlanta is currently tied with New York for the top spot in the conference.
Lynx Aim To Regroup From Double-Digit Loss To New York
Minnesota saw its seven-game win streak end with an 85-75 setback against the New York Liberty on Tuesday.
After trailing by double digits at the break, Minnesota got within four points (79-75) with two minutes left in regulation. However, the defending champs closed out the game with a 6-0 burst to secure their first victory against the Lynx this season.
New York’s offense featured a balanced attack in which all five starters reached double figures. Jonquel Jones led the way with 22 points and 10 rebounds. Sabrina Ionescu added 17 points and 11 assists.
Dream vs Lynx WNBA Pick
Atlanta is ranked second in both offensive and defensive efficiency. Meanwhile, Minnesota leads the league in points per game (86.6) and has the best scoring defense.
Although the season series is tied at 1-1, the Lynx have won four of the previous five meetings between the franchises. Additionally, Minnesota is 8-2 in its last 10 outings, and is 5-2 against the spread over the previous seven matchups against Atlanta. With that in mind, look for the Lynx to get the win.
