Atlanta Looks To Snap Two-Game Skid
After defeating the Chicago Sky by a 93-80 margin on Jun. 22, the Dream have dropped their last two contests. This includes a 96-92 loss to the Minnesota Lynx on Friday night.
Brionna Jones guided an offense in which all five starters reached double figures. She finished with 18 points, eight rebounds, and two steals. Allisha Gray logged 17 points, eight rebounds, and four assists, and Brittney Griner contributed 16 points and seven boards.
Atlanta trailed by as many as 17 points in the second quarter. However, the Dream battled back to take a seven-point lead in the final frame. Unfortunately, the home team was unable to protect the lead, and the game went into overtime.
Thanks to a pair of successful challenges, along with four free throws from Kayla McBride in the final 17.5 seconds, the Lynx escaped with a four-point victory.
The Liberty Aim To Bounce Back From Disappointing Showing Against Phoenix
Following an 86-81 victory over the Dream on Jun. 17, New York has dropped three of their previous four games. Their latest setback was a 106-91 loss to the Phoenix Mercury on Friday night.
Breanna Stewart was one of six players who recorded double-digit scoring totals. She led the way with 17 points, five rebounds, and four assists. Nyara Sabally added 16 points and six rebounds on 6-for-7 shooting from the floor. New York also got 33 points from its second unit.
The Liberty trailed by 18 points at the break before trimming the deficit to 68-61 in the third quarter. But thanks to some timely 3-point shooting, the Mercury pushed the lead back to 16 points entering the fourth quarter en route to a 15-point win.
Dream vs Liberty WNBA Pick
Atlanta enters this contest ranked second in points per game and scoring defense, allowing 77.1 points per outing. On the other side, New York is ranked first in offensive efficiency and boasts the second-lowest defensive rating in the association, allowing 97.4 points per 100 possessions.
