One of the games on Wednesday’s WNBA slate features the Atlanta Dream hosting the Las Vegas Aces. Who emerges victorious in our Dream vs Aces pick?
The Dream Are Coming Off An Impressive Win Against The Defending Champs
After coming up short against the Aces 74-72 a week ago, Atlanta has won two straight, including a 78-62 victory against the New York Liberty on Saturday.
The Dream led 24-14 after the opening quarter, and increased their advantage to 26 points late in the third quarter. Although a 15-0 run helped trim the deficit to 11 points, the short-handed Liberty, who had only eight available players, got no closer than that down the stretch.
Allisha Gray was one of three starters who reached double figures. She finished with 19 points, four rebounds, and two assists. Brionna Jones added 17 points, eight rebounds, and two assists for an Atlanta team that came out on top despite shooting just 39.5 percent from the field.
Las Vegas Looks To Stay Hot Against Top Team In The East
The Aces enter this contest having won each of their last 11 games. Their latest triumph includes a 79-74 win against the Chicago Sky on Monday night.
Las Vegas led by a seemingly comfortable 44-32 margin at the break. However, Chicago battled back, taking a one-point lead (74-73) with 2:37 left to play. But just when it appeared that the Sky had stolen the momentum, Chelsea Gray answered with a 3-pointer. Then, A’ja Wilson knocked down a free-throw line jumper to help Las Vegas stay ahead the rest of the way.
Four of the team’s starters tallied double-digit scoring totals. Young scored a team-high 22 points, along with seven assists, three steals, and two blocks. Wilson contributed 18 points, nine rebounds, three assists, and three rejections.
Dream vs Aces WNBA Pick
Atlanta ranks second in both offensive and defensive efficiency. Meanwhile, Las Vegas is seventh in scoring and eighth in points allowed per outing (81.7).
The Aces have won four of the previous meetings between these teams, including both matchups this season. While this will be a highly competitive battle, look for the Aces to extend their win streak to 12 games.
