One of the games on Wednesday’s WNBA slate features the Las Vegas Aces hosting the Connecticut Sun. Can Las Vegas make it two straight in our Aces vs Sun pick?
Las Vegas Looks To Build On Win Against Indiana Fever
The Aces recently snapped a three-game losing skid with an 89-81 victory over the Indiana Fever on Sunday.
A’ja Wilson spearheaded an offense in which four starters reached double figures. She scored a team-high 24 points on 8-for-21 shooting from the field. She also tallied seven rebounds and two blocked shots.
Jackie Young added 19 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists. Chelsea Gray chipped in with 18 points, converting eight of her 12 shot attempts.
The game was tied at 69-69 in the fourth quarter. However, Las Vegas used a 9-2 run and never looked back en route to outscoring Indiana by a 31-20 margin. It was the fifth straight victory for Las Vegas in this series.
Connecticut Aims To Snap Six-Game Slide
After notching an impressive 84-76 win against the Atlanta Dream nearly three weeks ago, the Sun have dropped their last six contests, including an 87-63 defeat at the hands of the Golden State Valkyries.
Aneesah Morrow led the way with 14 points and four rebounds. Jacy Sheldon, the only other player who registered a double-digit scoring total, finished with 10 points.
The game was close early, with Golden State holding a 23-20 advantage after the first quarter. However, the Valkyries seized control for good, outscoring Connecticut 36-12 in the second quarter.
Golden State shot 10-of-18 from the field and converted 12 of 14 attempts from the charity stripe. Meanwhile, Connecticut was just 4-for-16 from the field during the game-changing stretch.
Aces vs Sun WNBA Pick
Las Vegas is ranked eighth-best in offensive rating and ninth-best in defensive rating. On the other side, Connecticut has the worst scoring average in the league and is ranked 12th in points allowed, giving up 87.6 per contest.
The Aces have won the last four meetings between the franchises, with three of those wins coming by double-digit margins. Given how poorly the Sun have played this season, Las Vegas wins this won handily.
