- These squads previously squared off on Aug. 8, with the Aces winning by a narrow 90-86 margin.
One of the games on Sunday’s WNBA postseason slate features the Las Vegas Aces hosting the Seattle Storm in Game 1 of this first-round matchup. Who has the edge in our Aces vs Storm pick?
Las Vegas vs Seattle Preview
The Aces were a .500 team through their first 28 games. The team’s lowest point of the 2025 campaign occurred when it suffered an embarrassing 111-58 loss to Minnesota.
However, they ran the table down the stretch, ending the season on an 16-game win streak, tying them with the Mercury for the second-longest win streak in league history. Las Vegas is led by A’ja Wilson, who compiled averages of 23.4 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 2.3 blocks per outing.
On the other side, the Storm ended a two-game skid, defeating the Golden State Valkyries 74-73 in the season finale.
Erica Wheeler, who hit the go-ahead bucket, led the way with 17 points and five rebounds. Nneka Ogwumike added 16 points and eight rebounds, helping Seattle lock up the final playoff spot.
Will the Aces’ late-season surge carry over into the playoffs, or will Seattle’s defense prevail?
Aces vs Storm WNBA Pick
Las Vegas was sixth in scoring and finished seventh in points allowed per outing (80.7). On the other side, Seattle had the eighth-best offensive rating, but ranked third in defensive efficiency.
The Aces and Storm split the four-game set, with each team winning once on the other team’s home court. Given the fact that Las Vegas has not lost a game in over a month, look for that trend to continue in the opener.
