One of the games on Sunday’s WNBA slate features the Las Vegas Aces hosting the Chicago Sky. Who has the edge in our Aces vs Sky pick?
Aces Look To Stay Hot Against Lowly Sky
Following a humiliating 111-58 loss to the Lynx in early August, Las Vegas has responded by winning each of its last 13 contests. This includes a 97-87 win against Minnesota on Thurday night.
Las Vegas held a 63-55 lead in the third quarter before the Lynx trimmed the deficit to 70-66 going into the final frame. But a 3-pointer from A’ja Wilson midway through the fourth quarter gave the Aces a 10-point advantage (81-71) they would not relinquish down the stretch.
Wilson pumped in 31 points, along with eight rebounds, two assists and two blocked shots. During the team’s 13-game winning streak, the two-time WNBA champion has averaged 27.2 points, 12.1 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 2.0 blocks per game.
Chicago Hopes To Bounce Back From Poor Showing Against The Fever
After beating Connecticut 88-64 on Wednesday, the Sky suffered a 97-77 loss against the Indiana Fever on Friday night.
This one was over pretty early. Indiana shot 10-for-14 from the field and recorded 10 assists in the opening quarter. Their efficiency resulted in a 31-15 lead after the game’s first 10 minutes. Unfortunately for the struggling Sky, the game’s outcome was never in doubt after that.
Kamilla Cardoso had a solid outing, finishing with 18 points, nine rebounds, five assists, and two blocks. Michaela Onyenwere also scored 18 points on an efficient 6-for-8 effort from the field.
Aces vs Sky WNBA Pick
Las Vegas is sixth in scoring and eighth in points allowed per outing (81.7). On the other side, Chicago has the second-worst offensive rating and ranks 11th in defensive efficiency.
The Aces won the most recent matchup between these teams in late August. Additionally, they have taken four of the previous five meetings in this series. With that in mind, look for Las Vegas to win this once convincingly.
