Premier League Matchday 5 Picks
Liverpool vs. Everton
The first Merseyside derby of the 2025-26 season kicks off the round of matches. Liverpool have an excellent home record against their local rivals, losing just one of their last 28 at Anfield. Overall, the Toffees have won just two of their last 29 against the Reds.
However, it could be worth noting that Everton have won six of their last eleven away matches in the EPL. Despite that, the Reds have looked professional across the opening months, and they could win their opening five fixtures for just the third time.
Pick
Liverpool (-210)

West Ham vs. Crystal Palace
Something needs to change at West Ham under Graham Potter, as the East London side have conceded at least three goals in three of their four matches so far this season.
The Hammers are winless in their last seven at the London Stadium, and they have suffered defeats in four of their last six EPL clashes with Crystal Palace. An away win looks a solid selection based on the fact that the Eagles have lost just two of their last 17 away matches in the competition.
Pick
Crystal Palace (+145)

Wolves vs. Leeds
It may be too early to be calling a fixture a relegation six-pointer, but the pressure will be huge at Molineux on Saturday. Wolves have lost each of their opening four matches at the start of a season for the first time in their history, and they have lost eight of their nine home matches across August and September.
Leeds are unbeaten in their last four against Wolves, but they are yet to score from open play in 2025-26. A low-scoring clash looks likely on Saturday, but the narrow preference is given to Wolves based on their excellent record against promoted teams.
Pick
Wolves (+166)

Brighton vs. Tottenham
Tottenham have started the new campaign in excellent form under Thomas Frank, winning three of their four EPL matches. Brighton’s home record is notable this weekend, as they have lost just one of their last ten at the Amex.
Spurs have recorded victories in each of their two away matches so far this season, keeping clean sheets in both fixtures. An entertaining game is likely, and a draw could offer value in the betting.

The Draw (+268)

Burnley vs. Nottingham Forest
Burnley deserved a point from their latest fixture against Liverpool, and it indicated how important their home form will be in their relegation battle.
Nottingham Forest have suffered 3-0 losses in each of their last two matches, but they will be chasing successive league wins against the Clarets for the first time since September 2003. Based on home advantage, Burnley could be a notable selection when making Premier League picks this weekend.
Pick
Burnley (+236)

Man United vs. Chelsea
The pressure is back on Ruben Amorim following a dismal display in the Manchester derby last weekend. Despite that, United are unbeaten in their last 12 home matches against Chelsea, and have accumulated the second highest xG in the Premier League this season.
This fixture is the most drawn clash in Premier League history, and that could point to a very obvious result in the betting on Saturday.
Pick
The Draw (+268)

Fulham vs. Brentford
Fulham completed a rare league double over Brentford last season, but the Bees have won two of their last three away matches against the Cottagers.
Fulham have a poor record in London derbies, losing five of their last seven. Brentford’s performances so far this term have caught the eye, and they could be the value play at the odds available on Saturday.
Pick
Brentford (+287)

Bournemouth vs. Newcastle
Newcastle got a first win of the new season against Wolves last weekend, but their issues in the final third remain apparent.
Bournemouth have been excellent at the start of the new campaign, winning each of their last three. Juggling Europe with domestic duties could be an issue for Newcastle this season, meaning the narrow edge is given to the Cherries on Sunday.
Pick
Bournemouth (+153)

Sunderland vs. Aston Villa
A miserable start to the new season sees Aston Villa sit in the relegation places, and they are yet to score a goal in the EPL. Sunderland have made a quick start on their return to the top-flight, and they have been effective in home matches after winning each of their last two.
The Black Cats will need to raise their levels this weekend, but based on their home dominance, they appear to be among the standout Premier League picks on Sunday.
Pick
Sunderland (+273)

Arsenal vs. Man City
Title rivals collide at the Emirates on Sunday, as Arsenal and Man City lock horns. City got their campaign back on track with a dominant 3-0 win over Man City last weekend, while Arsenal were professional in a success against Nottingham Forest.
I still have concerns surrounding the Gunners in the final third of the field, and an indication of the job on Mikel Arteta’s hands could be evident when the former champions come to town.
Pick
Man City (+291)
