  • The Detroit Lions improved to 2-1 following an impressive effort against Baltimore.
  • Cleveland ended an eight-game losing streak with a 13-10 victory against the Packers in Week 3.
  • These teams previously squared off on Nov. 21, 2021, with the Browns claiming a 13-10 victory.

One of the games on Sunday’s NFL slate features the Detroit Lions hosting the Cleveland Browns. Who has the edge in our Lions vs Browns pick?

Lions’ Ground Game Was Key In Victory Over Baltimore

On paper, this contest was one of the premier matchups from Week 3. And the teams didn’t disappoint, scoring 21 points each through the first three quarters.

Leading 31-24 with two minutes left to play, Jared Goff completed a crucial 20-yard pass to Amon-Ra St. Brown. That was followed up with a 31-yard TD run by David Montgomery.

Baltimore got within 38-30. But an unsuccessful two-point conversion and Detroit recovering the ensuing onside kick enabled the road team to escape with a 38-30 win.

The Lions’ ground attack was pivotal in this matchup, outgaining the Ravens by a 224-85 margin. David Montgomery amassed 151 yards on 12 carries and two scores. Jahmyr Gibbs tacked on 67 yards, and he had two rushing touchdowns as well. It is also worth mentioning that Detroit’s defense recorded seven sacks.

Cleveland Aims To Upend Another NFC North Foe

The Browns had dropped eight straight games going into their Week 3 matchup against Green Bay. Additionally, they were down 10-0 entering the fourth quarter.

But despite trailing for most of the game, Cleveland scored all 13 of its points in the final 3:38, including Andre Szmyt’s game-winning 55-yard field goal as the clock expired.

This marked the first time in franchise history that the Browns won a game in which they had not scored any points and trailed by at least 10 points with four minutes left in regulation.

Can Cleveland pull off another upset, or will Detroit cruise to an easy victory?

Lions vs Browns NFL Pick

After a solid showing against the Ravens, Detroit is currently an 8.5-point favorite. Here are a few betting trends to consider for both teams ahead of this Week 4 matchup.

  • The Lions are 16-3 straight-up (SU) in their last 19 games.
  • Detroit is 5-2 ATS in its previous seven outings.
  • The Browns are 1-8 in their last nine contests.
  • Cleveland has covered the spread only twice in its previous nine matchups.

Based on how well it played against a good Ravens squad, the edge goes to Detroit in this interconference showdown.
