Eagles' Off-Field Drama Obscures Their 8-2 Record
The Eagles wouldn't be the Eagles if there weren't some sort of off-field gossip, innuendo, and complaining. Sometimes it hurts them. Sometimes it doesn't.
Currently, QB Jalen Hurts is the target with apparent "frustration" over the lack of scoring and how he runs the offense. This comes on the heels of the familiar complaints from perpetually unhappy wide receiver A.J. Brown.
While the team is winning, the complaints will be shunted to the side. If, however, they start losing, then it could and most likely will escalate.
In Week 11, Philly squeaked by the Lions 16-9. It might have ended in a loss had there not been a highly questionable pass interference penalty called against the Lions in the waning moments.
There is just no way that this is game-ending pass interference on the #Lions.

In the first matchup with the Cowboys on opening night, Dallas nearly upset Philly. The Eagles escaped with a 24-20 win.
Will the Eagles open up the passing offense to take advantage of the Cowboys' horrid pass defense? While Hurts is getting the blame for the Eagles' struggles, their rushing attack has been significantly worse than it was in 2024 when Saquon Barkley had one of the best seasons of any running back in history. Dallas' additions up front might prevent Philly from having a big game on the ground.

The Win Over Vegas Was Nice, But the Eagles Will Be the Test
This is not meant to disparage the Cowboys' 33-16 win over the Raiders, but the Raiders are awful. They're teetering on non-competitive.
Dak Prescott threw for 268 yards and 4 TDs. He was unhurried in the pocket, sacked once. Javonte Williams ran for 93 yards on 22 carries. Newcomer Quinnen Williams was a force with 1.5 sacks and 4 combined tackles. The Cowboys held Ashton Jeanty to 7 yards on 6 carries.

Geno Smith threw for 238 yards against Dallas' porous defense.
The Eagles are the test for Dallas' reconstituted defense. If Hurts has less time to throw and Barkley is mitigated, it obviously helps the Cowboys' secondary.
Head coach Brian Schottenheimer punished star wide receivers CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens by benching them for the first series against Vegas. According to Lamb, it was because the duo went to a casino after curfew.
Prescott is questionable with a hip issue. It will be a shock if he doesn't play.

Eagles vs Cowboys NFL Pick
For Week 12 Eagles-Cowboys, the game is imperative for both teams, which is somewhat surprising given the standings, with Philly 4 full games ahead of Dallas in the NFC East. The Eagles need a decisive win over their rivals to shut down the rumors of infighting eating the Super Bowl champs up from the inside. The Cowboys must show that their acquisitions on defense will dramatically improve their performance against good teams and possibly give them a chance to make a late-season run to the playoffs.
The longtime rivals will have another close-pitched battle, with the Cowboys keeping the score within a field goal and possibly winning outright.
