The Battle-Tested Chiefs Are the "If They Make the Playoffs..." Team
Despite the Chiefs' sitting in 3rd place in the AFC West with a 6-5 record and their playoff hopes in question, they are still dangerous. This week, Travis Kelce announced that he would be upfront with the team about his retirement plans after the season to give them ample time to plan for next season.
At 36 and with his off-field interests (notably his supposed engagement to Taylor Swift), the likelihood is that this is his final season.
It's indicative of a changing of the guard in Kansas City. In addition to Kelce, Chris Jones' play has slipped, and he and the team could be ready to part ways.
QB Patrick Mahomes has a 93.8 passer rating with 18 TD passes against 7 picks. He's rushed for 318 yards on 52 carries. At crunch time, there are no QBs better at getting their team within striking distance to win.
Week 12 was a prime example. The Colts, trying to establish their position in the AFC's upper echelon, took a 20-9 lead near the end of the 3rd quarter. But KC tied the score with no time left in regulation and won it with less than 2 minutes left in overtime.

Mahomes was 24 for 46 and 352 yards, no TDs, and 1 pick. He ran for 47 yards. Kareem Hunt carried a heavy load with Isiah Pacheco out. He amassed 104 yards on 30 carries.
KC has been predominantly mediocre this season and is middle of the pack in most team-centric stats. But, as stated earlier, if they get into the playoffs, no one will want to play them, particularly teams like the Patriots, Colts, and Broncos, who are lacking experience in January pressure.

Could the Cowboys' Comeback Over the Eagles Be a Springboard?
The Cowboys entered their matchup with the Eagles in Week 12 desperately needing a win to keep their flickering playoff hopes alive. Things looked bleak as they fell behind 21-0 less than 20 minutes into the game.
It got worse when Reed Blankenship intercepted Dak Prescott in the end zone with just over 5 minutes remaining in the half. But the Cowboys' defense held and allowed Prescott to drive the team down the field for a TD just before the end of the half.
In the second half, Dallas scored another 17 points and kept Philly scoreless, pulling out a 24-21 win.
Prescott was 23 for 36 and 354 yards with 2 passing TDs and one rushing TD on a fight to the end zone.
Dak. Prescott.

Now, at 5-5-1, the Cowboys remain alive in the NFC playoff race. They have a tough schedule ahead, starting with the Chiefs. They staged a notable and unexpected comeback against the Eagles. Taking it one game at a time, maybe they can use their improved defense and machine-like offense to get into playoff position.
The Cowboys' defensive statistics are antiquated. They recently welcomed back linebacker Demarvion Overshown from a knee injury last year, and the club acquired Quinnen Williams and Logan Wilson at the trade deadline. Their pass rush is a legitimate threat now. George Pickens is hitting his stride. The problem with drops he had in Pittsburgh, and complaints about not being targeted as a Steeler have not been evident in Dallas.
Dallas cannot turn the ball over against KC and expect to win.

Chiefs vs Cowboys NFL Pick
In Week 13 Chiefs-Cowboys, both teams need this win to maintain their playoff hopes. KC is in a better position than Dallas, but with the Cowboys' offense and the sudden injection of hope, this will be a tough fight on the road for the Chiefs.
If the Cowboys can keep the Chiefs under 21 points and do not turn the ball over, they should win the game. Of course, that's easier said than done when facing Mahomes, Kelce, Rashee Rice, et al.
The Cowboys are underdogs at home and will keep the score within 3 points.
