The Bills have found themselves in a surprising battle for AFC East supremacy with the upstart Patriots. Already, they are at a disadvantage with New England beating them head-to-head in Week 5 in Buffalo. The Bills followed that loss with another defeat at the hands of the Falcons.

For the season, Buffalo's one primary issue has been stopping the run. They are 28th in the NFL in defensive rushing yards allowed. They had a quiet deadline, so if they're going to break through to the Super Bowl, it will be with a roster as is.
The Dolphins are worse than the Bills against the run, so expect James Cook to have a big game, though he has been fighting an ankle injury.
Buffalo has a tough matchup hosting the Buccaneers in Week 11, so they cannot let up against the Dolphins.

Since the Dolphins suffered an opening week beating at the hands of the Colts, head coach Mike McDaniel's job was believed to be in jeopardy. The freewheeling style that seemed to be a breath of fresh air degenerated into a lack of discipline and accountability. The on-field results and the infighting showed just how far they had fallen.
At 2-7, instead of firing McDaniel, the team dismissed GM Chris Grier. McDaniel is expected to remain in place for the remainder of the season. It's not difficult to gauge his chances at returning for 2026.
The loss to the Ravens encapsulated Miami's season. It seems as though Baltimore took its foot off the gas out of sympathy.
One week after his season-best performance in a 34-10 win over the Falcons, QB Tua Tagovailoa completed 25 of 40 passes for 261 yards and 1 interception against the Ravens.
Miami lost two fumbles.

De'Von Achane has had an excellent season amid the disaster. Against Baltimore, he rushed for 67 yards on 14 carries and caught 6 balls for 39 yards.
The Dolphins' 2025 fate is sealed. So is McDaniel's. The remainder of the season will be playing for jobs and wondering who will be calling the shots in 2026.
At the trade deadline, Miami sent linebacker Jaelan Phillips to the Eagles for a 2026 3rd round draft pick.

For Week 10 Bills-Dolphins, the question is how much of a fight Miami puts up against a Buffalo team with Super Bowl aspirations and in need of wins to have a chance at the AFC East title.
That's not to imply that the Dolphins players won't do their jobs, but that they know there is a new regime coming in and they will need to showcase themselves to other teams while avoiding injury in a lost season.
It's a fine line.
Buffalo needs to drop the hammer early, get a lead, and ensure the game is not in doubt in the second half.
Expect a Bills blowout with them winning by double digits.
