- USF stunned #13 Florida last week, defeating them 18-16 and climbing to 2-0.
- Miami had no issue defeating Bethune-Cookman last week, routing them 45-3.
- These two teams last met on September 21, 2024, in a game that Miami won 50-15.
South Florida and Miami meet this week in a Florida battle. The Bulls pulled off two ranked upsets to start the season and now face their toughest matchup yet, heading on the road to battle top-5 ranked Miami.
USF Looks to Continue Hot Start
After taking down #25 Boise State in a 31-7 Week 1 thumping, South Florida continued to impress in Week 2. Their defense stifled the #13 Florida Gators all game, holding them to just 16 points. The Bulls have now emerged as the most likely G5 team to earn a CFP bid. They face another uphill battle this week in Miami.
Miami Hopes to Stave Off Upset
Miami improved to 2-0 following their win over FCS Bethune-Cookman. It was a much easier victory than their Week 1 clash with Notre Dame, so the Hurricanes need to avoid sleepwalking into this week’s game against #18 USF. Miami is still seeking to recreate some of what they lost via Cam Ward’s NFL departure.
#18 USF vs #5 Miami NCAAF Pick
Despite how well USF played in the first two weeks, it seems pretty unlikely they’ll upset #5 Miami on the road for a third straight top-25 win. That being said, their defense is allowing only 11.5 points per game after two tough matchups. It’s hard to imagine they allow Miami to score enough to cover such a large spread.
