One of the games on Thursday’s NBA slate features the Golden State Warriors hosting the Los Angeles Lakers. Which team keeps its win streak intact in our Warriors vs Lakers pick?
Warriors Hope To Make It Four In A Row
The Warriors have won three straight games after suffering back-to-back losses against the Atlanta Hawks and the Miami Heat. This includes a 134-125 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies on Tuesday.
Stephen Curry was nothing short of sensational. The four-time NBA champion led the way with 52 points on 16-for-31 shooting from the field and a 12-for-20 effort from beyond the arc. He also tallied 10 rebounds, eight assists, and five steals.
Jimmy Butler III had a solid performance as well. He finished with 27 points, connecting on seven of his 11 shot attempts, and went 12-for-12 from the charity stripe. Butler also had six boards, handed out four assists, and collected three steals.
Despite leading by 13 points through the game’s first 12 minutes, Golden State was nursing a three-point lead with 1:13 left to play in regulation.
Curry missed a 3-pointer, but Brandin Podziemski tipped in the miss, giving the Warriors a 127-122 lead it would not relinquish. With the victory, Golden State improved to 3-2 on its road trip, overtaking Memphis for the fifth spot in the conference playoff race.
Lakers Shooting For Third Consecutive Win
Following a buzzer-beater loss to the Chicago Bulls, the Lakers enter this conference tilt amid a two-game winning streak, including a 104-98 win against the Houston Rockets on Monday night.
Luka Doncic was one of two starters who reached double figures. He finished with 20 points, nine assists, and six rebounds. LeBron James added 16 points, eight rebounds, and four assists.
Los Angeles also got solid performances from two of its bench players. Dorian Finney-Smith and Gabe Vincent scored 20 points each, and both players had six 3-pointers.
James hit a pair of free throws to put the Lakers up 102-98 with 11.1 seconds left. He then soared to block Alperen Sengun’s layup attempt in the following sequence. Dillon Brooks could not knock down his 3-point attempt, sealing the win for the home team.
Warriors vs Lakers Pick: Who Has The Edge In This Divisional Matchup?
The Warriors have won seven of their last ten games. Although they are mediocre in scoring (ranked 18th in points per game), the Dubs are holding opponents to 110.7 points per contest, the eighth-best mark in the league.
On the other hand, the Lakers have produced six wins across their previous 10 outings. Los Angeles is 14th in defensive rating and 12th in offensive efficiency.
With just two games separating these teams in the standings, the matchup could be pivotal down the stretch. Los Angeles has won all three matchups this season, and that trend will continue when these division rivals face off on Thursday night.
