  • The Thunder are 62-12 and have the league’s best record, with eight games remaining on their schedule.
  • Detroit is 42-33 and is slotted in the No. 5 spot in the conference playoff race.
  • These teams last played on Mar. 15, with the Pistons claiming a 113-107 victory.

One of the games on Wednesday’s NBA slate features the Oklahoma City Thunder hosting the Detroit Pistons. Will OKC extend its winning streak in our Thunder vs Pistons pick?

OKC Shooting For 11th Straight Victory

After a double-digit loss against the Denver Nuggets three weeks ago, the Thunder have reeled off 10 straight wins. Their most recent triumph is a 146-117 victory against the Chicago Bulls on Monday night.

OKC’s balanced offensive attack was on full display against Chicago, where six players reached double figures. Isaiah Joe, who comes off the bench, led the way with 31 points on 10-for-17 shooting overall and an 8-for-14 effort from beyond the arc. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander finished with 27 points, 12 assists, and two blocked shots.

Isaiah Hartenstein and Lu Dort chipped in with 14 and 11 points, respectively. The Thunder raced out to a 29-18 advantage after the opening stanza. And thanks to a 36-13 burst in the second quarter, OKC led by a comfortable 74-40 margin at the break, making the rest of the game a formality.

The Thunder scored 85 points in the middle two quarters while shooting 53.1 percent from the floor and 53.5 percent from 3-point range.

Detroit Looks To Bounce Back From Blowout Loss Against Minnesota

On Sunday, the Pistons saw their three-game win streak end with a 123-104 setback against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Malik Beasley set the tone for the road team, scoring 27 points, including six 3-pointers. Tim Hardaway Jr. logged 20 points and four rebounds. Jalen Duren contributed 13 points, 11 boards (including five offensive) and three assists.

Minnesota trimmed a 14-point deficit to six at the break. After Beasley tied the game at 69 in the third quarter, Julius Randle knocked down a huge 3-pointer, giving the Timberwolves a 72-69 lead. They never trailed the rest of the way.

Thunder vs Pistons Pick: Does OKC Keep Its Streak Going Against Detroit?

In addition to their 10-game winning streak, the Thunder are ranked third in offensive efficiency and have the best defensive rating in the association (107.0 Points Per 100 Possessions). Simply put, it doesn’t get much better than that, folks.

On the other hand, the Pistons have produced six wins across their 10 previous contests. Detroit is ranked 11th in scoring and 14th in points allowed.

Detroit won the previous matchup between these franchises. But given the Thunder’s recent surge, look for them to come out on top when these teams face off on Wednesday night.
