Devin Booker added 19 points, 12 assists and seven rebounds. Ryan Dunn and Nick Richards contributed 12 and 10 points, respectively.
Phoenix led by three points entering the fourth quarter and the outcome was in doubt right down to the final possession. With the game tied at 106, Booker knocked down a 20-foot jumper, gviing the home team a 108-106 lead.
Brook Lopez had a chance to send the game into an extra session but missed a turnaround jumpers as time expired. Fighting for their playoff lives, the Suns’ recent triumph allowed them to maintain the last spot in the Western Conference play-in tournament.
Celtics Equally Hot, Aiming For Seventh Consecutive Victory
Boston dropped a 118-112 decision against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Mar. 12. Since that minor setback, the defending champions have reeled off six straight victories.
This includes a 113-95 win against the Sacramento Kings on Monday. Jayson Tatum guided an offense in which five players reached double figures. He finished with 25 points, seven rebounds, and eight assists, including five 3-pointers.
Kristaps Porzingis scored 16 points and collected eight rebounds, while Payton Pritchard led the second unit with 22 points and five boards.
Despite losing Tatum to an ankle injury in the third quarter, the Celtics outscored Sacramento 25-17 in the final frame. Additonally, this was the 70th time this season Boston reached double-digits for shots made from 3-point range.
Suns vs Celtics Pick: Which Team Extends Its Win Streak?
The Suns have produced six wins in their previous 10 games. Although it has the fifth-worst defensive rating in the league, Phoenix enters this tilt with the seventh-best offensive rating.
On the other hand, the Celtics’ stock is trending upward with nine victories across their last 10 contests. Additionally, the defending champs play well at both ends of the floor, ranking in the top-five defensively and second in offensive efficiency.
These teams split the season series in 2021-22 and 2022-23 before Boston swept the two game set last season. While both teams enter this matchup with multi-game win streaks, look for Boston to notch its seventh straight victory when these teams clash at the Footprint Center on Wednesday night.
