Pistons-Knicks Game 5 Recap

Detroit dropped consecutive games on its home court. However, they extended their season with a much-needed 106-103 victory to bring the series back to Detroit for Game 6.

Cade Cunningham did not have a great shooting night (6-for-17 from the field), but he spearheaded the offense, scoring a team-high 24 points, along with eight rebounds and eight assists.

Ausar Thompson added 22 points and seven rebounds. Tobias Harris chipped in with 17 points, eight rebounds, and four blocked shots.

On the other side of the matchup, OG Anunoby paced an offense in which all five starters reached double figures. He finished with 19 points and eight boards on 8-of-13 shooting from the floor.

Karl-Anthony Towns finished with a double-double that included 17 points and 11 rebounds. He also had two blocked shots. Mikal Bridges contributed 17 points along with six rebounds.

The game was tied at 95 late in the final frame. However, Jalen Duren made two consecutive baskets, and Cunningham scored as well, giving Detroit a six-point lead.

Now, the Pistons look to force a Game 7 in a series where the home team has won only one time.

Pistons vs Knicks Pick: Who Comes Out On Top In Game 6 Of This First-Round Matchup?

Can Detroit stave off elimination once again, or does New York move on to the conference semifinals in the next matchup? Here’s a look at a few betting trends for both sides heading into Game 6.

  • The Pistons are 1-10 straight-up (SU) in their last 11 home games against New York.
  • Detroit is 2-5 against the spread in its previous seven outings.
  • The Knicks are 15-5 in their last 20 matchups against the Pistons.
  • New York is 4-1 ATS in its previous five road contests.

After stealing a road win, the Pistons enter Game 6 as a two-point favorite, according to BetOnline. However, in a series in which the road team is 5-1, look for the Knicks to come out on top in what should be another competitive affair between these two ball clubs.
