  • These teams last played on Nov. 1, 2024, with the Cavaliers claiming a 120-109 victory.

One of the games on Tuesday’s NBA slate features the Orlando Magic hosting the Cleveland Cavaliers. Will the league’s top team extend its winning streak to eight games in our Magic vs Cavaliers pick?

Magic Hoping Good Fortune Continues

Following a 112-106 setback against the Atlanta Hawks on Feb. 10, the Magic have posted three wins in their last four games, including a 110-90 victory against the Washington Wizards on Sunday night.

Franz Wagner was one of three starters that reached double figures. He scored 23 points, grabbed seven rebounds, and handed out five assists on 11-for-22 shooting from the field.

Paolo Banchero added 19 points, five boards, and five dimes, while Wendell Carter Jr. chipped in with 11 points and nine rebounds.

Washington kept it close early, as the Magic led by a slim 49-47 margin at the break. However, Carter and Wagner keyed a 22-6 run in the first five minutes of the third quarter to help Orlando take an 18-point lead, and this group never looked back.

Cavaliers Seeking Eighth Straight Victory

The Cavaliers have been hot since their 112-105 loss to the Boston Celtics three weeks ago. In fact, Cleveland has won seven straight.

In their recent outing, the Cavs defeated the Memphis Grizzlies 129-123 on Sunday night. Donovan Mitchell pumped in 33 points on 11-for-23 shooting from the floor and a 4-for-8 effort from 3-point range.

Evan Mobley finished with 25 points, 13 rebounds, and eight assists. Ty Jerome led the second unit with 26 points, five rebounds, and four assists.

In a matchup between the two highest-scoring teams in the league, Cleveland led 62-56 at the break and maintained that six-point edge in the second half as the teams played to a 67-67 stalemate.

Cleveland notched its 27th win at home, while the Grizzlies lost for the third time in four games.

Magic vs Cavaliers Pick: Cavs Hot Streak Continues Against Orlando

Orlando has gone 5-5 in its previous 10 contests. Although they are ranked last in scoring and 29th in offensive rating, this squad holds the top spot in scoring defense (105.2 PPG) and defensive efficiency (108.8 Points Per 100 Possessions).

Meanwhile, the Cavaliers are 9-1 in their last 10 games and have five double-digit wins during their seven-game winning streak. Cleveland is a top-10 defensive squad and boasts the league’s top offense.

So, if defense wins championships, the Magic have the edge. But if a top offense trumps a good defense, the Cavaliers have the advantage.

Given how dominant they have played during their winning streak and most of the season, look for the Cavaliers to stay hot against Orlando.
