  • The Grizzlies are 38-20 and have the best record in the Southwest Division.
  • New York is also 38-20 and has the second-best record in the Atlantic Division.
  • These teams last played on Jan. 27, with the Knicks claiming a 143-106 victory.

One of the games on Friday’s NBA slate features the Memphis Grizzlies hosting the New York Knicks. Which team extends its win streak to two games in our Grizzlies vs Knicks pick?

Grizzlies Look To Duplicate Offensive Effort From Win Against Phoenix

After suffering back-to-back losses against the LA Clippers (128-114) and the Indiana Pacers (127-113), the Grizzlies have won two of their last three contests, including a 151-148 OT win over the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday night.

The Grizzlies’ offense featured six players that reached double figures, including four of the team’s starters. Ja Morant led the way with 29 points, eight assists, and four rebounds.

Jaren Jackson Jr. finished with 28 points and six boards, while Desmond Bane added 25 points and nine rebounds for a Memphis squad that shot 52.5 percent overall and 41.7 percent from beyond the arc.

In a high-scoring, back-and-forth contest, Phoenix led by a 148-144 margin with 1:17 left in overtime. But Memphis didn’t flinch as the home team closed out the extra session with a 7-0 run to escape with a three-point win.

Knicks Coming Off Close Call Against Sixers

Meanwhile, the Knicks snapped a two-game skid with a 110-105 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers. Jalen Brunson had a spectacular outing with 34 points and seven assists. He shot 8-for-17 overall, 3-for-5 from distance, and 15-for-16 from the charity stripe.

Mikal Bridges poured in 28 points on 66.7 percent shooting from the field, and OG Anunoby finished with 16 points and nine rebounds.

New York led by a 61-45 margin at the break, but Philadelphia fought back to take a 102-98 lead with 3:45 left to play.

The Knicks responded with a 12-3 burst down the stretch, including nine from Brunson, in a game they should have won handily.

Grizzlies vs Knicks: Memphis Gets The “W”

Memphis has gone 6-4 in its last 10 games and ranks 25th in points allowed. However, it has the eighth-best defensive rating and boasts the sixth-best offense in the league.

On the other hand, the Knicks have also won six of their previous 10 matchups. While New York is not a great defensive team, this squad does own the fifth-highest scoring average and is ranked third in offensive efficiency.

In addition to the Knicks’ lopsided victory against Memphis a month ago, they have also won three straight in this series. Despite that trend, look for Memphis to bring its “A” game in this matchup.
