One of the games on Wednesday’s NBA slate features the Sacramento Kings hosting the Denver Nuggets. Can Sacramento extend its winning streak in our Kings vs Nuggets pick?
Surging Kings Seeking Fourth Straight Win
Following a three-game losing streak, the Kings have bounced back with victories in each of their last three games. Their latest triumph includes Monday’s 127-117 win over the Detroit Pistons.
Zach LaVine led a trio of starters who reached double figures. He exploded for 43 points, including eight 3-pointers. LaVine also had four assists and three rebounds.
DeMar DeRozan, who excels in the mid-range game, led Sacramento with 37 points on 14-for-26 shooting from the floor and an 8-for-10 effort from the charity stripe.
The living, breathing triple-double machine that is Domantas Sabonis contributed 19 points, 15 boards, and 10 dimes.
After overcoming a double-digit deficit, the Kings pulled away in the fourth quarter, outscoring Detroit by a 30-23 margin. LaVine keyed the surge with 17 points, including three consecutive 3-pointers in the first 1:46 of the final frame.
Reeling Nuggets Look To End Late-Season Slide
After posting wins against the Milwaukee Bucks (127-117) and the Utah Jazz (129-93), the Nuggets have dropped their previous four games, including a 125-120 setback against the Indiana Pacers on Sunday.
Nikola Jokic did a bit of everything against Indiana, scoring 41 points, pulling down 15 rebounds, and handing out 13 assists. Denver’s big man also collected two steals.
Christian Braun logged 30 points, eight rebounds, and four assists on 80 percent shooting from the floor. Michael Porter Jr. added 15 points but was just 1-for-9 from beyond the arc.
Trailing 122-120 with 15 seconds left to play, Denver committed its third turnover in the final two minutes, which helped preserve the victory for the Pacers.
Kings vs Nuggets Pick: Who Has The Edge In This Western Conference Matchup?
The Kings have gone 4-6 in their last 10 games. While they are ranked in the bottom third in points allowed, they are a top-10 team in scoring.
On the other hand, the Nuggets are ranked fourth in offensive efficiency but are 23rd in defensive rating, which could be troublesome against the suddenly hot Kings.
The Nuggets have won four straight in this series, including all three matchups between the two franchises this season. Despite their late-season slump, Denver should get back on track against Sacramento.
