  • The Heat are 30-41 and have the third-best record in the Southeast Division.

  • These teams last played on Jan. 7, with the Heat claiming a 114-98 victory.

One of the games on Tuesday’s NBA slate features the Miami Heat hosting the Golden State Warriors. Can Miami slow down Golden State in our Heat vs Warriors pick?

Heat Have Struggled Following Jimmy Butler’s Departure

The Heat have floundered since the team dealt Jimmy Butler III to Golden State in February. Following the trade, Miami has dropped 17 of its last 22 games, which includes a 10-game losing streak.

Fortunately, this group finally snapped that skid with a 122-105 victory against the Charlotte Hornets on Sunday night.

Andrew Wiggins produced a memorable outing, scoring 42 points on 16-for-21 from the field and 6-for-8 from 3-point range. He also had five assists, three rebounds, and two steals.

Tyler Herro was no slouch, as his final stat line included 29 points, six rebounds, three assists, and three steals.

Charlotte led 26-20 after the opening stanza but could not sustain its early success. Miami closed the first half on a 24-4 run to take a 57-47 lead into the break.

The Heat also won the scoring battle in the third quarter by a 39-28 margin before cruising to an easy 17-point win.

Warriors Look To Bounce Back From Loss Against Hawks

On Saturday, the Warriors saw their two-game win streak snapped by a 124-115 setback against the Atlanta Hawks.

Butler spearheaded an offense in which four starters reached double figures. He scored 25 points and handed out eight assists on 7-for-15 from the field and 10-for-14 from the charity stripe.

Moses Moody logged 20 points, five assists, and four rebounds, and Brandin Podziemski added 19 points, including a 5-for-8 effort from beyond the arc.

Atlanta led most of the game and held a 17-point edge going into the final frame. Georges Niang, who scored 23 points for the Hawks, knocked down one of his six 3-pointers, giving the home team a 106-85 lead.

Golden State outscored Atlanta 30-18 down the stretch to make the final margin more respectable.

Heat vs Warriors Pick: Who Has The Edge?

The Heat have dropped nine of their last 10 games and have the fifth-worst scoring offense in the association. That’s the bad news. On the flip side of the narrative, Miami is giving up 110.6 points per outing, the seventh-best mark in the NBA.

On the other side of the matchup, the Warriors have won eight of their previous ten contests and 16 of their last 20 since Butler’s arrival. Although they are a middle-of-pack team from an offensive standpoint, the Warriors have the seventh-lowest defensive rating.

Miami has won three of the previous head-to-head matchups in this series. But given the team’s struggles, the Warriors should emerge victorious when these ball clubs clash on Tuesday night.
