  • The Nuggets are 37-19 and have the second-best record in the Northwest Division.
  • Los Angeles is 33-21 and has the best record in the Pacific Division.
  • These teams last played on Nov. 23, 2024, with the Nuggets claiming a 127-102 victory.

One of the games on Saturday’s NBA slate features the Denver Nuggets hosting the Los Angeles Lakers. Will Denver continue to flex its muscles in our Nuggets vs. Lakers pick?

Nuggets’ Stock Is Trending Upward

Following a three-game skid, the Nuggets have posted wins in each of their last nine outings, including a 129-115 victory against the Charlotte Hornets on Thursday night.

Jamal Murray put together a terrific performance, as he finished with 34 points on 12-for-18 shooting from the field and 7-for-10 from beyond the arc.

The reigning MVP, Nikola Jokic, scored 29 points, grabbed 17 boards, and handed out assists. Denver’s big man also knocked down six of his 14 attempts from 3-point range.

After the opening stanza, the Nuggets held an eight-point advantage, but Charlotte battled back, trimming the deficit to three points heading into the fourth quarter.

Thanks to a 13-2 run early in the period, Denver outscored the Hornets 30-19 en route to their seventh consecutive double-digit win, which catapulted the team into the No. 2 spot in the conference playoff race.

Lakers Shooting For Second Straight Win

After suffering back-to-back losses against the Utah Jazz (131-119) and the Hornets (110-102), the Lakers bounced back with a 110-102 win against the Portland Trail Blazers on Thursday night.

LeBron James had a turn-back-the-clock outing with 40 points to go along with eight rebounds and four assists. The four-time champion shot 14-for-24 from the field, 4-of-8 from distance, and 8-for-8 from the charity stripe.

Austin Reaves had a memorable game as well, finishing with 32 points and seven assists, while Dorian Finney-Smith chipped in with 10 points and six rebounds.

Despite trailing by as many as 13 points, the Blazers tied the score at 81 points in the final frame. Los Angeles responded with an 18-8 run to take a 99-89 edge, a lead it would not relinquish.

Nuggets vs Lakers Pick: Denver Wins A Close One

The Nuggets are hot, going 9-1 in their previous 10 contests. Although they are not a great defensive team by any stretch, they do boast the third-best offense in the association.

Meanwhile, the Lakers are a middle-of-the-pack team on both ends of the floor. On the positive side, they have produced seven victories across their last 10 games.

In a matchup between two teams that are playing well, the outcome can go either way.

However, given the Nuggets are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 matchups against Los Angeles and have won five straight in this series, look for that trend to continue in what should be a close game throughout.
