Event Preview
The NASCAR In-Season Challenge continues this weekend, as the action moves to California. The Toyota Save Mart 350 has been held annually since 1989 when it replaced the Budweiser 400 at Riverside. Drivers will complete a total distance of 218.9 miles, which is made up of 110 laps. The crucial 50 laps at the conclusion will make up the final stage.
Kyle Larson will be among the favorites this weekend, as he bids to become one of just four drivers to win the race on three separate occasions. Larson was the dominant winner of the race last year. However, the former champion will be aiming for a response after finishing only 13th last time out at the Grant Park 165.
Shane van Gisbergen will once again be a prominent selection. The New Zealander was the winner of the street race in Chicago last weekend, marking his second race win in four NASCAR Cup Series starts.
Chase Elliott has been the big mover in the Drivers’ Championship standings in recent weeks after winning the Quaker State 400. Elliott has also finished in the top five in three of the last four races. Although, his sequence was ended after finishing 16th in the Grant Park 165 last time out.
Toyota Save Mart 350 Picks
A competitive race is set for California this weekend. However, a chance could be taken on Alex Bowman at a bigger price.
The driver has been very consistent throughout the campaign, and has finished in the top five in two of the last four races. He has also finished in the top 15 places in each of the last two editions of the Toyota Save Mart 350.
