Event Preview
Atlanta Motor Speedway hosts the second leg of the In-Season Challenge this weekend, as the Quaker State 400 is staged. This weekend’s race covers a total distance of 400.4 miles, which is made up of 260 laps. The final two stages cover a total of 100 laps, with the opening stage consisting of 80 laps.
Chase Briscoe comes into this round in excellent form after winning The Great American Getaway last Sunday. It was a disappointing weekend for William Byron, as the current Drivers’ Championship leader could only finish back in 27th.
Four of the top seven in the standings finished in the top ten places last weekend, which included Kyle Larson, who took seventh. Christopher Bell would have been disappointed with his performance after finishing down in 17th.
Chase Elliott is a driver who deserves respect this weekend after finishing in the top five in each of the last two races, and failing to finish outside of the top 15 in his last six efforts.
Quaker State 400 Picks
Kyle Larson appears to be the standout play this weekend. The championship challenger has been driving consistently throughout the season, despite winning just three times. After taking seventh last time out, he could go a few places better in Atlanta this Sunday.
