Colorado Ventures to KC on a 1-Game Win Streak
With a 4-17 record and just having broken an 8-game losing streak, the Rockies need to hope for small positives. One such positive would be a 2-game winning streak. Making matters worse for the Rockies is that, in addition to their record, they are in the toughest division in baseball with four potential playoff teams. They are the league’s punching bag.
Manager Bud Black deserves better than this.
Ryan Feltner takes the start for the Rockies. Except for his last start, the righty has pitched reasonably well in 2025. In his first 3 starts, he tossed 16 innings, allowed 15 hits, and 5 earned runs, striking out 16. In his start against the Dodgers on April 15, he gave up 5 earned runs in 2.2 innings.
The Royals’ Cavan Biggio is 2 for 5 against him. Jonathan India is 1 for 5. All hits were singles.
The Rockies’ hitting has not been good in 2025, which is ironic since they are in one of the friendliest hitters’ parks in baseball. Kyle Farmer is batting .306; Brendan Doyle is at .315; and Nick Martini is batting .283. Kris Bryant continues to be possibly the worst free agent signing in history with a .154 batting average and a .400 OPS in 41 plate appearances.
Royals Try to Climb Back Towards .500
After making it to the ALDS in 2024, the Royals have stumbled out of the gate in 2025, losing 14 of their first 23 games. They broke a 6-game skid with a win over the Tigers on Sunday.
Key hitters are struggling at the plate. Salvador Perez is batting .182 with 2 home runs. Vinnie Pasquantino it batting .194 with 2 homers. Michael Massey is at .197. M.J. Melendez is batting a dreadful .085.
Bobby Witt Jr. has a slash of .307/.370/.477.
Against the Rockies, Kris Bubic goes to the mound. Bubic has a 1.88 ERA in 4 starts with 27 K’s in 24 innings. He already has a 1.0 bWAR, which is impressive so early in the season.
Farmer is 3 for 4 with a home run against Bubic. Jacob Stallings is 1 for 3 with a double.
Rockies vs Royals Pick: KC Will Keep Colorado Plummeting
The Royals might be having a slow start, but the Rockies have been playing terribly for the entire season. In addition, Bubic has emerged as KC’s best pitcher so far this season. The Royals will take the Rockies.
