Albany Stakes Picks (R1- 9:30 AM ET)

The opening race of day 4 at Royal Ascot comes in the form of the G3 Albany Stakes, which is for fillies aged two over six furlongs. Karl Burke-trained Venetian Sun will be a red-hot favorite for the race on Friday.

However, a chance could be taken on the improving Green Sense for the Joseph O’Brien team. The two-year-old has finished within the first two on her two starts under rules, and she was far from disgraced when stepped into stakes company on her latest effort when finishing within a length of Lady Iman.

The draw will be key to her chances, but she has a progressive profile, and Ascot should be a track that suits her running style.

Commonwealth Cup (R2- 10:05 AM ET)

The first of the two Group 1 races on Friday at Ascot comes in the form of the high-quality sprint over six furlongs. The G1 Commonwealth Cup will attract a stacked field, including Godolphin’s Shadow Of Light, and the progresisve Babouche.

But, Jonquil will have little to find on official ratings, and he represents the Andrew Balding yard, who have been among the winners in recent weeks.

The three-year-old was last seen finishing a close second behind Henri Matisse in the French 2000 Guineas, but he already has winning experience over a shorter distance after impressively winning the G3 Greenham Stakes on his reappearance. This kind of race should suit him perfectly.

Coronation Stakes (R4- 11:20 AM ET)

The big race on Day Four of Royal Ascot comes in the form of the G1 Coronation Stakes. This race is for fillies aged three, with a total distance of a mile being covered. Despite the inclusions of Aidan O’Brien’s Exactly and Ralph Beckett’s Chantilly Lace, this is expected to be a battle between the top two in the betting.

Falakeyah’s supplementary offers an interesting angle, but it could ensure there is a better price to side with Zarigana. The French raider has won on both of her starts this season, albeit she was fortunate to be given the Group One honors last time out in the stewards’ room.
