Event Preview
DP World Tour action will once again be staged in the United Kingdom this weekend, as the Scottish Championship will be held at Trump International Golf Links. This weekend’s event has only been staged on the European Tour on one occasion, with its inaugural edition coming in 2020. However, it was announced earlier this year that the tournament would be revived for the 2025 season.
Marco Penge will be a red-hot favorite this weekend after impressing in the Scottish Open earlier this summer. The Englishman finished 13-under to take a share of second, and was just two shots off the lead at The Renaissance Club.
Jordan Smith could also be hard to overlook, as the 32-year-old is a proven performer on links courses. The Englishman finished under-par at The Open last month, and he also achieved a top 25 finish at the Scottish Open.
Kristoffer Reitan is also a strong performer on links courses, which was reflected by his T30 finish at The Open in July. The Norwegian also arrives in excellent form this weekend after previously finishing in a share of fourth at the BMW International Open in Munich, Germany.
Scottish Championship Picks
Richard Mansell could be a smart play this weekend. The 30-year-old was a strong performer at the Scottish Open last month after finishing five-under, with his final round seeing him shoot four-under. His consistency this season ensures that he could provide value at +3500.
