The eyes of the boxing world will be on Las Vegas at the end of May, as Caleb Plant returns to action. Plant will defend his interim WBA super middleweight title against Jose Armando Resendiz at the Michelob Ultra Arena.

It has been a mixed couple of years in the ring for Plant, as he has suffered two defeats in his last four fights. The first of those losses was his first knockout defeat at the hands of Canelo Alvarez.

However, a quick return to winning ways followed against Anthony Dirrell in October 2022. But, he once again came up short against high-quality opposition on his return in March 2023 after falling to a defeat against David Benavidez.

However, the former super middleweight king has since put that defeat behind him after overcoming Trevor McCumby in September 2024.

Plant will be the clear favorite in this showdown, as he comes up against a relatively unknown opponent. Resendiz at least comes into this bout with a winning recent run after winning three of his last four fights. However, this is a relatively big step up in opposition.
