The world’s best players will be in action across Canada, Mexico, and the United States, and betting on the outright winner of the competition is fierce. But, who are the favorites and what are their chances of winning the World Cup in 2026?

The reigning European champions headline the outright winner betting odds. Spain were dominant throughout EURO 2024, and the youthful quality within their squad is still improving.

Lamine Yamal is undeniably their main player, and the Barcelona superstar comes into this summer’s competition in red-hot form.

Their possession-focused style of play will suit conditions in the U.S., and the attacking quality that they showed at the recent Euros indicates that they will be difficult to beat.

For me, a major concern would be the fact that they aren’t playing a warm-up game in the U.S. Therefore, they could be unprepared for conditions when the competition gets underway.

Thomas Tuchel has won trophies everywhere that he has managed, but this summer, he will face the biggest challenge of his career.

England haven’t won the World Cup since 1966, and the German will be tasked with masterminding a path to glory for this stacked Three Lions roster. Harry Kane is the world’s best number nine, while strong attacking options such as Bukayo Saka, Jude Bellingham, and Morgan Rogers will also feature.

Despite keeping clean sheets in all qualifying matches, there are still concerns surrounding how England will defend against the very best teams in the tournament.

Argentina (+950)

Lionel Messi finally got his hands on the World Cup in 2022, but retaining the prized honor is something only legendary Italian and Brazilian teams have managed to achieve.

Messi’s fitness is a concern ahead of the tournament, but there is a sense that the South American nation have the ability to grow into the competition this summer after being handed a very favorable draw.

However, it would be a slight concern that the squad’s age will make them vulnerable against younger teams in the World Cup.

Brazil (+1000)

Few nations are more synonymous with the World Cup than Brazil. However, it has been over 25 years since they last won the competition, with legendary manager Carlo Ancelotti tasked with getting Selecao back at the top of the world game.
