Justin Gaethje vs. Paddy Pimblett Fight Preview

Saturday represents the biggest night of Paddy Pimblett’s career. The British fighter will be challenging for a title for the first time in his UFC career, and he could potentially be the star that ensures that the sport is able to once again captivate mainstream attention.

Pimblett has been catapulted into this title showdown, despite sitting fifth in the lightweight rankings. His persona is infectious, and the Baddy’s talent in the octagon is unquestionable.

Confidence levels are likely to be high after a string of dominant showings, which includes a career-defining TKO win over Michael Chandler at UFC 314. Pimblett is unbeaten in seven UFC fights, and has only been taken the distance on two occasions.

However, Justin Gaethje will likely pose his biggest challenge to date. The experienced 37-year-old American is ranked fourth in the lightweight rankings, and is a former BMF champion.

His experience in the sport has seen him collide with some of the biggest stars, including Khabib Nurmagomedov in October 2020, and Charles Oliveira in May 2022. His form has been mixed in the last two years, losing via KO against Max Holloway in April 2024, before bouncing back with a decision win over Rafael Fiziev at UFC 313.

Justin Gaethje vs. Paddy Pimblett Picks

This should be a fascinating clash of styles, but based on the fact that neither fighter tends to go the distance, there is likely to be a stoppage win. We like the chances of Pimblett winning the bout via KO/TKO, and a statement success could be achieved as early as the second round.
