One of the most prestigious events on the DP World Tour is set for this weekend, as the Open de España is set for Madrid. This weekend’s event has been a part of the European Tour schedule since 1912, with the field competing over a distance of 7,112 yards at the par 71 course.

Unsurprisingly, Jon Rahm will be a red-hot favorite in his home event. The Spanish star has been in excellent recent form after playing a starring role in Europe’s Ryder Cup-winning success in New York. His record in this event also deserves huge respect after winning on three previous occasions.

Shane Lowry is another of the Ryder Cup-winning stars who return to action this weekend. The Irishman made the winning putt in New York a couple of weeks ago, and his momentum could continue with another bold showing now back in individual competition.

Joaquin Niemann will also hold interesting claims after an excellent season on the LIV Golf schedule. The Chilean’s high level of performances have continued in recent weeks, including when taking a share of 20^th at the BMW PGA Championship last month when finishing 12-under.
